Names of five Jesuits accused of sexual abuse given to D.A.
By Associated Press, 03/07/02
BOSTON -- An attorney representing the Society of Jesus has given the names of five Jesuit priests accused of sexual abuse and their alleged victims to prosecutors. Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley did not make the names public, but three former Boston College High School teachers have already been named. They are Revs. Stephen F. Dawber, James Talbot and Francis J. McManus, who allegedly sexually abused students from the mid-1970s to the late '80s. The Jesuit order operates B.C. High. Conley did not say whether the two priests whose names have not been made public were teachers. Each priest has one accuser, Conley said. Conley asked the Jesuits to provide any additional information their own investigations reveal. © Copyright 2002 Boston Globe Electronic Publishing Inc. | Advertise | Contact us | Privacy policy | |
