The town has a new deputy police chief: William Quigley, a 16-year veteran of the Cohasset Police Department, who was sworn in last week. He is the first person to hold the job, which was created to provide more administrative oversight. Quigley, 43, lives in Weymouth and was originally from South Boston. A graduate of Hingham High School, he holds an associate’s degree in criminal justice from Quincy College. He has been a lieutenant for the last four years and was a sergeant for five years before that. As deputy chief, he will oversee Cohasset’s uniformed officers and criminal investigation division. The Police Department has 49 employees, including 18 full-time officers. - Johanna Seltz![]()
