Two found dead, man taken into custody after police standoff in Biddeford, Maine
Two people were found dead inside a home in Biddeford, Maine, and a man was taken into custody after a standoff with police Saturday night, Maine State Police said.
The standoff at 17 Sokokis Road ended just before 10 p.m., when police took an unidentified man into custody after he spoke with police negotiators, Maine State Police spokesman Stephen McCausland said in a statement.
A man and a woman were found dead inside the home, McCausland said. A second woman had been taken to a hospital with a gunshot wound earlier in the evening. A young child was also taken from the house with no injuries.
The State Police Tactical Team and negotiators responded to the scene at the request of Biddeford Police. The man taken into custody was transported to the Biddeford Police Department for questioning, McCausland said.
