High 5

Jordan Davis , Norwood: The senior captain has been a rock in goal all season, and last week, giving up just five goals in four games, all Mustang wins, was no different. Davis shut out Newton North with a 24-save performance while Norwood was minus three key seniors (injury), then held a very good Winchester team to two goals on Saturday.

Pat Horrocks , Braintree: Although Catholic Memorial snapped the Wamps’ 11-game win streak Saturday, the junior defenseman did what he could to extend the run earlier in the week with four goals in wins over Weymouth (8-2) and Walpole (4-2).

Hannah Murphy , Duxbury: A goal and two assists in a win over Walpole on Saturday upped her team lead in both categories (23 goals, 16 assists), with the senior captain notching six points in her last two games.

Victoria O’Heir , Mansfield/Oliver Ames: The co-op program has not done a whole lot of winning this season, but their sophomore captain is a reason the future may be bright. With a hat trick in a road win against Whitman-Hanson/Pembroke, the forward closed in on classmate Nora Maclaine (25 goals, 14 assists) as the team’s top scorer with 23 goals and 15 assists.

Trevor Trudeau , Rockland: The junior assistant captain made 32 saves against Abington last Wednesday to give Rockland a chance at the South Shore League title, then made 15 stops vs. Sacred Heart for his third shutout of the year. Stopping 47 of 48 shots earned him a one-game reprieve vs. Hull on Sunday, when junior Nick DeMarco got a spot start.

Boys’ Game of the Week

Xaverian (8-6-4) vs. Catholic Memorial (9-6-2), Canton Sportsplex, noon Friday: The Feb. 9 blizzard set up this Catholic Conference makeup game, rounding out the regular season for both squads. CM had the upper hand the last meeting, a 6-2 road win, but Xaverian is 4-1-1 in its last six games, including three shutouts. For the Hawks, junior forward Antonio Marini of Hanover has a team-high 34 points, while senior captain Eddie Pratt of Walpole leads the way with 17 goals. The Knights — 1-5-2 in their last eight — could easily get back on track thanks to Liam Coughlin, the Catholic Conference’s leading scorer with 23 goals and 13 assists.Tim Healey end of story marker
