East Boston man faces 8th drunk driving charge
BOSTON—An East Boston man whose license has been revoked for driving while drunk is facing his eighth charge of drunk driving and several other offenses.
Massachusetts State Police said Thursday that a trooper arrested Albert Diaz in Chelsea after following his vehicle when he saw the 52-year-old make several traffic violations in Revere, including speeding.
Police say Diaz failed field sobriety tests and was arrested Wednesday night. He was taken back to the Revere state police barracks, where officers discovered that his driver's license has been suspended for life for numerous offenses related to drunk driving.
Diaz is charged with drunk driving, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and driving after license revocation for operating under the influence of liquor.
It was not immediately clear if Diaz has legal representation.![]()
