But when a judge asked Whitey Bulger’s girlfriend, Cathy Greig, if she had ever been treated by a psychiatrist, her mind raced back 28 years, to a triple-decker in Southie, where her brother killed himself. And in that moment, Cathy Greig, the seemingly cold moll of a murderous gangster, did something she had never done in public: she cried.
