The Reading-North Reading Chamber of Commerce is in the process of selecting a new executive director to succeed Irene Collins, who resigned from the position to take the helm of the Burbank YMCA in Reading. Collins had been responsible for overseeing all of the chamber’s initiatives, from community development to volunteer management and fund-raising, since taking the top job four years ago. The Burbank YMCA has nearly 9,000 members and serves the communities of Reading, North Reading, Stoneham, Wakefield, and Wilmington. Collins started in her new position as the Y’s executive director on Sunday.
