US Sen. John Kerry welcomes new grandson

BOSTON—U.S. Sen. John Kerry is welcoming a new grandson into the family.
Kerry's daughter Vanessa gave birth to Alexander Kerry Nahed on Easter Sunday at about 8:35 p.m. The newborn weighed 7 pounds and 11 ounces.
Vanessa Kerry is married to Brian Nahed, Both parents are doctors at Massachusetts General Hospital, where Vanessa gave birth.
A spokeswoman for Sen. Kerry said he feels excited and blessed at the news.
It's the Massachusetts Democrat's first grandchild from his daughters, Vanessa and Alex.
He has a granddaughter and grandson from two sons of his wife Teresa Heinz's prior marriage.
