REHOBOTH, Mass.—Rehoboth police say a man who died after falling off his bicycle this week may have been the victim of a defect with his racing bike that prompted a recall by the manufacturer.
The man was found by an off-duty officer at about 5:30 p.m. Monday. He was taken to the hospital with severe head injuries where he was pronounced dead.
Police say the man, who was wearing a helmet, is 58 and from Attleboro but did not release his name.
Police say it does not appear a motor vehicle was involved.
But the type of bike he was riding had been recalled because of the possibility of the front forks cracking.![]()
