The substance that a Boston University graduate student ingested in her South End apartment on Monday night in an apparent suicide remained a mystery on Tuesday, hours after residents in her building were permitted to re-enter the property. The cause of the woman’s death cannot be determined until the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner completes an autopsy, Boston Fire Department officials said.
