Married gay couples say Obama’s support ‘symbolically huge’

Tanya McCloskey and Marcia Kadish were among the first same-sex couples to get married after Massachusetts became the first in the nation to legalize gay marriage eight years ago. Since that day, May 17, 2004, the couple has enjoyed a new sense of acceptance of their decades-long relationship. But when President Obama offered his support for same-sex marriage this week, it was like a whole new level of validation, McCloskey said.
