BOSTON—Victoria Kennedy, the wife of late Sen. Edward Kennedy, has invited Scott Brown and Elizabeth Warren to go head-to-head in a senatorial debate sponsored by the University of Massachusetts-Boston and the institute named for her husband.

Warren's campaign manager said Tuesday that she would accept the debate offer.

Kennedy sent letters to the two political rivals last week, asking the Republican Senator and his Democratic challenger to participate in a Sept. 26 debate at the UMass campus, near where the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the United States Senate is currently being built.

Colin Reed, a spokesman for Brown, said the campaign had received the invitation and that "everything is under consideration."

Warren has now accepted four televised debate offers. Brown has accepted two televised debates and two radio debates.
