For generations, Conomo Point has been a secret summer heaven, a seasonal community of old clam shacks on a majestic peninsula that just into the Essex River Basin. But there has always been a catch; those homes were on town-owned land. Now the town is terminating many leases and arguing the residents don’t own the homes they built on that land. It’s a huge legal dispute, but many have already fled, unable to appreciate the summer with the stress.
