Better late than never, the town’s tax rate has been set. The state Department of Revenue Administration has approved a rate of $11.22 per $1,000 of assessed value, a 62-cent rise over last year. The rise comes in part because of a revaluation of town property and a decrease in state revenue sharing. Property taxes are normally due Dec. 1, but they will be due Dec. 22 this year due to the delay in setting the rate caused by the revaluation.end of story marker
