  • Family: My family is of Portuguese descent and has been in the district for three generations. I am a loving father and grandfather as well as a dedicated son to my 93-year-old father and stepmom. My daughter Sage served in Iraq; her husband Jacob recently returned from his third tour in Iraq, and my son Shane recently returned from Afghanistan. Shane and Jacob are still serving our nation in the active military. My wife Carolyn and I, both musicians, have played and performed our music throughout the United States.

  • Experience: I am an elected community leader, teacher, and academic counselor with a distinguished record of service in education. In my teaching and counseling at the public school and university levels, I have touched many lives in my work for more than 40 years. I spearheaded substantial reforms as chairman of the Swansea School Committee.
