Why are you running?

I am running to restore democracy to Massachusetts and to break the stranglehold our one-party system has on our government and economy in the Commonwealth that is destroying our competitive edge in competing with other states and countries in this global economy.

There are only 33 Republicans out of 160 members of the Massachusetts House of Representatives. If a citizen doesn’t vote in the primary. they are usually faced with a ballot with only one name on it: the Democrat incumbent.

Even if they vote in the primary, once an incumbent is elected, she normally doesn’t face a challenge from her own party until she retires, runs for higher office, dies, or is arrested as the last three speakers of the house were. We live in what is essentially a one-party state like Cuba or many other totalitarian countries.

I brought my son to America from a country that has been dominated by one party since it broke away from the Soviet Union. I want him to live in a state where he and the rest of the citizens can have a choice in the kind of government we have.
