Voter turnout is expected to reach record numbers as millions of Americans cast ballots for a historic presidential matchup between Senators Barack Obama and John McCain.

Hundreds of voters lined up in the gymnasium at Green Run High School in Virginia Beach, Va. More than 4,600 people are registered to vote at this precinct.
