Season recap: Aviles saw action in 124 games for the Indians in 2013, hitting .252 with nine home runs and 46 RBIs. He mostly played third base and shortstop, with a few games at second base and a handful at DH and in the outfield.
Red Sox ties: Aviles came to the Red Sox in a deadline trade in 2011 that sent two minor leaguers to Kansas City. Aviles hit .317 in 38 games for Boston down the stretch, and followed that up with a 2012 in which he played 136 games and hit .250 with 13 home runs and 60 RBIs. He was traded to the Blue Jays in October 2012 as compensation for John Farrell, and was subsequently dealt to Cleveland two weeks later.
