Ryan Lomberg, Devin Shore, and Ben Hutton each scored two goals as Maine overpowered Boston University, 7-3, at Fenway Park on Saturday.

The Black Bears took a 1-0 lead in the first period on Lomberg’s first goal before heavy rain and lightning delayed the game for an hour.

The Maine offense didn’t skip a beat when play resumed.

Hutton, Andrew Cerretani, and Shore scored in the first and Lomberg scored again in the second period as the Black Bears took a 5-0 lead into the final period.

The Terriers showed some life after the second intermission. Garrett Noonan, Nick Roberto, and Cason Homan scored in a span of 6:33 to pull BU within 5-3.

However, Maine put the kibosh on the rally with Hutton and Shore both tallying empty-net goals.
