About him: Goaltender Cory Schneider is in his sixth year in the NHL; he split time time with Roberto Luongo for the Vancouver Canucks before being traded to the New Jersey Devils this past offseason. Schneider has played in 106 games in his NHL career, holding a record of 56-30-11 with a goals-against average of 2.19, a save percentage of .927, and 10 shutouts. A native of Marblehead, Schneider played at Phillips Academy in Andover before playing at Boston College. He will be competing for the US goaltending job with 2010 starting goaltender Ryan Miller of the Buffalo Sabres and 2012 Conn Smythe Trophy winner Jonathan Quick of the Los Angeles Kings, as well as with the Ottawa Senators’ Craig Anderson,the Detroit Red Wings’ Jimmy Howard, and the Anaheim Ducks’ John Gibson.
