Ed Burns Tournament — No. 6 Reading took home the title with a 3-1 win over Billerica. Tyler Bova scored in the first period and Mike Thompson tallied a pair in the third. In the consolation games, Jack Kelly, Dan Russell, and Mike Greco scored in the shootout to send No. 15 Arlington to victory over Somerville. Goalie Luke Tremblay stopped all three attempts by Somerville. The teams finished regulation tied, 1-1. Arlington Catholic and Andover skated to a 3-3 tie after the Golden Warriors’ Markie Campbell scored the tying goal at the final buzzer.

Catholic Memorial 8, St. John’s (Shrewsbury) 1 — Liam Coughlin netted four goals to lead the No. 5 Knights to victory.

Norwood 2, Duxbury 1 — The ninth-ranked Mustangs picked up the win behind stellar goaltending from senior Jordan Davis, who registered 32 saves.

Brookline 2, Brockton 0 — Jake Paul made 43 saves to lift the Warriors (2-3) past the Boxers.

Girls’ hockey

Wilmington 2, Waltham 0 — Junior forward Chloe Castellano scored both goals and sophomore Shelby McHugh (16 saves) earned her first win in net for the visiting Wildcats.

Latin Academy 4, St. Joseph’s Prep 1 — Junior Kathleen Torpey scored three goals and notched an assist to lead the Dragons.end of story marker
