Framingham primed for strong season in boys’ soccer

A number of last year’s Division 1 teams in Eastern Mass. — Oliver Ames, Nauset, and Dartmouth in the South — drop to Division 2. Masconomet, a Division 1 North semifinalist last season, also will move to Division 2. Last season’s Division 2 South champion, Medway, drops to Division 3.

But there still might be a surprise or two in Division 1. There is one team that a few coaches have on their radar.

Framingham’s season ended in the first round of the Division 1 North playoffs last year, St. John’s Prep knocking off the Flyers, 2-1. The Flyers — a No. 13 seed last season — could make a deeper playoff run, though, as they return eight starters.
