Players of the week

Karina Alfisher, Newton South — The senior made 56 saves in a 6-1 loss to Arlington, and has a 2.80 goals-against average this season.

Kylie Ham, Wayland/Weston — The freshman stopped 19 shots in a 3-2 upset of powerhouse Lincoln-Sudbury, helping a five-game unbeaten streak.

Delia O’Connor, Shrewsbury — The freshman posted 28 saves for her first career shutout in a 7-0 victory over Franklin.

Shannon O’Neil, Austin Prep — The senior stopped 31 shots to beat Archbishop Williams, 1-0. She leads the state with nine shutouts.

Victoria Messina, Hingham — The junior defenseman scored the winning goal in the third period for the Harbormen in a 4-3 victory over Mount St. Charles (R.I.). Hingham outshot its opponent, 54-9, and clinched a tournament berth.

Amanda Conway, Tewksbury/Methuen — The sophomore forward a program-record seven goals in one game, and leads the team with eight hat tricks this season, totaling 41 goals and five assists.
